As an aesthetician, I understand that it can be a bit challenging to get new families into your facility.
After all, everyone has access to the internet and various sources of information where people are discouraged from undergoing procedures to improve their bodies.
The challenge is getting your potential customer to understand that working with a licensed aesthetician is worth their time and money.
We’re going to teach you some of our favorite methods to attract new families into your spa.
Today we’re going to share with you step 1, optimizing your Facebook Page to establish trust with potential clients.
Your Facebook Business Page is where your customers can go to learn a bit more about your services and facilities, see your latest works, and read reviews about your business.
Ideally, you’ll want to keep this updated as much as possible. Here are some ways you can keep your Page engaging so that customers know that they’re interacting with a legitimate, reputable medical spa.
Post Content Regularly
This isn’t as challenging or time-consuming as it may seem. 1-3 times per week, simply open your Page and upload a picture or video of one of your recent treatments (of course with the permission of the patient), post a positive testimonial that you’ve received from a client, share a behind-the-scenes video of you or your team working at your facility, or any other piece of content that pertains to your medical spa.
Again, this doesn’t have to be super time-consuming, just post something engaging for your followers or potential customers to look at. They want to see that you’re active and that you take your spa seriously.
Engage With Your followers
Naturally, if you have followers on your social media channels (and if you don’t – don’t worry we’ll get to that part in just a second) they’ll engage with your content organically.
Engagement could mean things like commenting on your pictures and videos, messaging your page with questions, and leaving reviews about your spa.
In the current digital age, many consumers (especially younger ones) will review your social media channels way before they ever pick up the phone to call you.
This means that if a potential client has a simple question, or even wants to book an appointment, chances are high that they’ll actually send your Facebook Page a message to get in touch with you.
So it’s important to check your messages and other Facebook engagement at least once per day so that you can respond to your customers in a timely manner.
Ensure Your Business Info Is Up to Date
Once you have your Facebook Business Page setup, you’ll want to ensure all of your business’s relevant information is up to date.
Simply navigate to the About tab in the left menu and fill in your business website, phone number, hours of operation, email address, About Us, and any other sections that you feel would pertain to your business.
This makes it easier for your customers to find all of the details about your business, in one easy to locate the place.
What if I don’t have any followers on my social media channels?
This is one of the most common questions we receive when it comes to setting up your social media profiles. If you have no followers, then what’s the sense in creating content if no one will see it?
It’s important to have a fair amount of followers on your business page (at least 300) so that your potential customers can see that you’re a legitimate, trustworthy, active business.
Remember, “people like what people like.” This means that if someone in the market for a microdermabrasion session, for example, sees that other people like and interact with your business, then there must be something there for them to stick around and check out!
There are a few ways to get new people to follow your Page if they’re not already.
Invite your current friends and family to like your Page
This can be achieved by navigating to your Facebook Business Page from a desktop or laptop and finding the Invite Friends button on the right-hand side of the page under the section titled Community.
This will let you select all or some of your friends list, and Facebook will send a notification to them, requesting them to simply Like your Page.
Once you start getting followers that way, your friends and family will start to organically Like, Comment, and Share your content (assuming you post quality content that is!). This gets the ball rolling, and will allow other people on Facebook to see your content, and eventually, Like your page.
Ask past and present customers to follow you on Facebook
This one is super simple. Simply send a quick message to your past customers and request that they give your Facebook Page a Like so they can continue to see your new work, and stay engaged with you on your future content.
Bonus– while you’re at it, ask them to leave a review sharing their experience of what it was like to work with your medical spa. Reviews go a long way when it comes to establishing trust and authority in your market.
Gathering positive reviews on Google, Facebook, and Yelp should be one of your top priorities from now on.
Simply send your previous customers a message or an email with a link to your preferred Review profiles (we like Facebook & Google), and request them to share their experience and Like your Page. Let them know that this helps your small business a great deal in your community. It’s easier than you think!
What if this manual outreach method results in only a few new followers?
Luckily, Facebook makes it easy to spend a few dollars and Promote your Page to a relevant audience in your community, and request that they Like your page to keep seeing your cool content!
This method is cheap, easy, and effective in getting your new followers on your page who may later convert into paying customers.
Remember, the more likes, comments, followers, and reviews your Facebook Page has, the more it will stand out from your competitors’ Pages and establish you as the clear leader in your community.
